The year 2024 was marked by capricious weather: after a rainy spring, the hot, dry summer restored balance to our vineyards. Thanks to the continued efforts of our winegrowers, the 2024 vintage looks very promising!
During the spring, we had abundant rainfall, which was conducive to the development of mildew. But with the help of the Mistral wind, combined with meticulous monitoring of our plots, the winegrowers were able to protect the vines and bring out the best expression of our terroirs.
The arrival of the summer, which was hot and particularly dry, was beneficial after the rainy spring. The white grapes, as well as the red grapes destined for the creation of our rosés, took advantage of the heat of August to reach perfect ripeness, measured daily by our winegrowers in order to trigger the harvest at the most opportune moment. We harvested the first bunches of grapes, with their beautifully concentrated aromas, under optimum conditions. As a result, the whites are shaping up to be extremely fine, while the rosés are seductively fruity and fresh, thanks to the mild summer nights.
September, meanwhile, was crucial to the quality of the red wines. After an arid summer, heavy rain at the beginning of September recharged the soil with water, ensuring that the grapes ripened perfectly and evenly. Once again, the Mistral wind enabled us to harvest perfectly healthy grapes, with berries concentrated in sugar.
All in all, the harvest went off without a hitch. The Union’s winegrowers were able to take advantage of every phase of the weather to produce grapes of the highest quality, rich and balanced, with intense aromas and fine tannins.
